Film Noir

I made a movie trailer at work yesterday (I don't work at a production company, it's an architect firm).  Here's the super corny rough cut:

Plus, these film titles crack me up!

Has anyone seen this film? I still can't believe I wrote a report on it--and passed!

Hilarious.

Lastly, this film looks reallllly good!! Cast is solid--can't wait to see it!

Have a laugh today peeps!

On The Go Essentials

With yesterday being a crazy busy start to the week, today's post is inspired by the crazy week we are probably going to have here at my office. Here are some essentials that will help out on your next busy day:

1. Keep your phone charged.
There is nothing like running out of batterie life, so bring a car charger and pack an extra travel charger too just in case. You never know where you will be when your battery life starts to die, so be prepared for all situations. *Remember, if you are at someone else's office ask first before plugging in your phone. You are using their electricity and should make sure they are ok with it first. Plus you don't want to accidentally blow a fuse either--super embarrassing!*

2. Keep an extra pair of sunnies in your car. You may think this is obvious, but we can easily forget these when we are rushing out the door in the morning before the sun is up. Do yourself and other drivers a favor and pack an extra pair of sunglasses in your car the night before.

Have had this pair from Marc by Marc Jacobs for 3 years now--super fav sunnies of all time!!

3. Cash and coins. Keep some cash & coins on you when you are running around town. You never know if you have to park in a parking structure or at a meter, so be prepared. Also, if you want to grab a quick coffee, cash is always faster than a card. Then you have more time to relax too!

4. Sunblock. Remember to slap some SPF on before you run out the door. You never know where your meeting will take you. I can't tell you how many random tan lines/sun burns I have gotten from surprise sun rays. Let's just say if you want to skip the lace tank top sun burn, it's worth the 5 seconds extra to put sunscreen on!!

5. Dress in layers. Sometimes the weather can change quite a bit from morning to afternoon. Plus, when you are driving everywhere you want to be comfy too. So wear some comfy layers, and bring a blazer too so you can dress up your outfit quickly. Also, don't wear clothes that will wrinkle easily either, then you really will look like you have been "running" around town.

Hope these tips help out a little! Leave a tip/essential that you think is a must in the comments.
Hang in there peeps! -HM

Work Wear: Sheer Blouses

Sheer tops are becoming a new must-have right now, and with all the pretty pastel colors it's perf for spring! But how to wear them at the office? Here are some good ones you and your boss will love:

Same as above, I just couldn't choose one color only!

Love this deet!!

(not many prof looking ones, but with the right blazer these would work)

(on sale items only--not worth paying full price I think.)
Grab a cardigan with these and you are ready for work.

Happy Tuesday. HM

Sister's B-day!

My little sister turns 11 today!! She's now an official "tween". Can't wait to celebrate with her and eat some cake :)

Fashion Reaction: Florals on Florals on Leopard on Florals...

Ok, so I know that florals and leopard are getting popular for spring, but when you put them all together in one outfit, it just looks like a crazy mess. Remember, just because a celebrity or fashion designer sports it, doesn't mean it looks good in everyday attire. Here are some clashes that I just don't think would work at the office:
