Hairspiration: Summer do

Getting my hair done tomorrow (finally). I'm thinking something shorter, like medium length. I'm getting tired of this long hair, its getting stuck in my armpits!! Way gross! Time to chop:

Wetsuit + Summer Inspiro

Finally! A new wetsuit! Wanna see?

If you use a plastic bag over your feet your legs will glide right in, BTDUBS. It's still warmer than hell in one outside of water, hence my "hurry up and take the picture" face at my boo.

I decided to curl my hair for work...it just looked messy by the end of the day. I think it's haircut o'clock. I need some ideas--Pinterest it is!

Here's my summer inspiro: links on my Pinny

If I Could Afford It...

...I would get a ton of jewelry from: In God We Trust

Here are a ton, and I mean, a TON, of things I'm liking. Some aren't that expensive actually, but I think I would have a hard time narrowing down my selection to just one/two items. Check them out boos:

Also, some fun facts about the origins of the IGWT phrase...if you feel like getting patriotic (not associated with the company, rather about the phrase in US history, just to be clear).

What do you think? Find any faves?

Summer Movie Craving and a lil' Miss Utah Redemption

Miss Utah gets redeemed, a little too late but she offers a much better answer than her first one:

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Also, I want to watch more De Sica films this summer. My favorite is Bicycle Thief/Thieves

The little boy, Bruno, is super adorable. You just want to hug him and tell him everything will be okay!

I miss Italian cinema so much. I took a whole semester studying it, and it did not disappoint. Try out Bicycle Thieves if you want to see why it's the bee's knees. Seriously, the cat's meow! Plus, with subtitles, you will learn to speed-read, which has been a huge bonus in my life. Summertime is when you don't want to move around because it's so hot, so a movie and a cold iced tea are the perfect combo. I might make these bad boys too, they sound (and look) so good!

Summer Goal: Watch all of De Sica's films this summer, join me boos!!

Any summer plans/projects for you?

Colorboards and Wedding Linens

Today at work we were knee-deep in colorboard making, and it made me think of my almost-fiasco while planning my wedding table linen color combos.

I was really close to being done, about a few weeks until showtime, and I was talking to the linen company about a color scheme. At this point, I was very worn out. I had a full time job, then had wedding planning all to myself after work. It was fun, but not something I'd suggest to someone if you can help it.

My colors were easy: purple and green, with some ivory as a neutral. So naturally I told the linen ladies my colors and said, "do what you do best". They were very nice, but insisted that I come in to see the final set up, just to be absolutely sure that this is what I wanted. I hung up the phone with a huff and took my lunch hour to drive over to their warehouse and look at fabric that I was sure would look great. I may have been a little annoyed, but hey, I was a bride-to-be, I was allowed to have a little attitude!

I was walked into their store, saw my table set up, and FROZE. Can you think why? Why would purple and green be a bad decision? Here's a hint:

Yeah, that's why.

I had accidentally picked colors that matched Barney exactly. I said to the linen ladies: "This is Barney...holy cow, I themed my entire wedding colors after a children's TV character!! (then, turning to the linen ladies) Thank you SO much for making me come down here!!"

They hadn't noticed the resemblance either until I mentioned it, and then we all laughed for a good five minutes. It was a definite lesson for the both of us: they were reassured about their policy of a physical viewing with every client, and I was taught to not cut corners and double check my choices before giving the "okay".

I can't believe I had almost picked those colors, how embarrassing would that have been? Haha! It would have been pretty funny though...maybe after a few months!

Here's how my tables looked after I changed my color combo a bit:

I made those wine bottle table numbers, which were pretty easy. Just some address number templates from Home Depot and spray paint! (Oh and drinking 12 bottles of wine with purple labels).

Much better, right? Phew!!

So, hopefully this will help you out with any styling job you have coming up. Always match things together in person, and take an extra few seconds now to be sure. Trust me, it's worth it!!
