Picnic with my Mama

I can't believe I didn't take any pictures!! I had my phone right next to me the whole time... Oh well, it was super nice out so for our monthly lunch we thought we would get some dip from Giuseppe's (my fave!!) bring some snacks and sit in the sunshine. Besides the occasion bum outbursts it was a really nice lunch. I forget how pretty this town is. It's making me excited for summer.

This time last year we got our kitten and I still miss him. We only had him for two months before we had to give him to a better family--landlord issues. That lil guy was HYPER! But it was so fun coming home to that furry little face. I hope he's happy with his new (well now old) family. We don't hear anything back about him which I guess means he's working out okay. I just really can't wait until we can afford a home rather than an apartment.

Well the Clips are on so I'm going to pour some wine and not leave the tv for a second! We really need a win!! Cross some fingers folks!

Finally no more looking pissed haha. Well I can kind of smile, it's still a little sore but that's fine!! Although I was liking having to smile like an Olsen twin...

Moving on...

"Say my name, say my name"--remember Destiny's Child? Obvi who doesn't!

Lately I have been doing a ton of networking for work, making new connections, and all that fun stuff. I've noticed that people really remember my name well, to the point where they might say my name about 3X in one meeting. Now there isn't anything wrong with that, you might be thinking. It's actually pretty polite, and nice to know that they care enough to put my name in their memory bank, even if it's just for the few minutes we talk. But I cannot for the life of me ever remember people's names, so I will go to great lengths to avoid proper nouns. Just thought I'd let you know I will probably not remember your name...but I will remember your face!

Also, conversely, I can see a celebrity face and INSTANTLY know who it is! First and Last name, in seconds!! Guess that shows how much attention I put into meeting someone face to face verses on my TV--awesome I'm a great person. 

I think I might notice all this due to my scriptying days on set, I'll explain later. Now I have work and then reading for my coursera class (that I totally forgot about until today) and the Following to watch and maybe even a little writing on a new script/story I thought of in the shower this morning. So much inspiration from a shower, it's crazy.

Lately

After having gum work done in Monday, my lips have been super swollen. I think it's kind of hilarious, albeit painful. Don't worry, I've got pictures to prove it (bc we all know that pictures or it didn't happen phrase). Check 'em out below!

Also, as of late, I've been on the hunt for a new apt. I know, I know, why would I ever move away from downtown?! Well folks, ill tell ya why--it's crazy expensive!!! Like more than a paycheck expensive!! I have to use one whole paycheck, PLUS part of my next paycheck, just to afford rent!! WTF?!? But...it's downtown, 30 seconds from my office, soooo I guess there's that... That's why I'm looking. I just want a place that's a few hundo less with a patio and maybe okay with pets, how hard can that be (yeah I'm not holding my breath). Ill keep ya posted with what I (probably won't) find.

I'm gonna take more Vicodin now and watch more basketball!!

Weekend fun: Express Blow Out Finally!!

I got a gift card to do an express blow out for Christmas, and I'm happy to say that I finally used it! (bout time!). It's amazing, thanks for asking! I love having super straight hair with no frizz!! 

It is a little heavy right now though, but that's to be expected. Also, it feels like I used wayyy too much hair spray, so that's kind of a bummer. But the results far outweigh these tiny issues.

I tried to get a good shot of the grease fest going on, but it's not really coming across in this pic. Oh well! 

Having my hair be literally maintenance free is rad, especially right now since I just had surgery. (I have gum issues, I'll explain later, maybs, it's really boring). 

Also, I hemmed that maxi skirt after having some wine, and it looks crazy. Not in a good way either, just dumb. Soooo moral of the story here: don't sew while drinking.

Out Like A Light

This happens just about every day when I get home from work. Even after an energy drink. Even after about five sodas.

The catch? Every night he takes about an hour or three to fall asleep. The injustice!! (Might be due to the naps actually...)

Anyway , HAPPY FRIDAY!! Gonna wake up the Boo now!

Fat Kid Lunch

You really can't beat a good fat kid lunch. I knew my Boo was in a good mood when he suggested grilled cheeses and french fries for lunchers. (For those who didn't know, I used to be about 35+ pounds heavier, sooo I know a thing or two about fat kid meals). Anyway, it was delish on a dish!! Now I should probably go running after work, but it's waaaaay too windy, and I'm just that easily convinced to sit this one out. 

You really wanna know how lazy I am? Alrighty! 

Example #1: I NEVER wore sneakers to P.E. in high school. Always flip flops. I got marked down so many points that I had to do some extra credit to get a "pass" (don't tell my parents), which meant I had to write a few essays. Luckily, writing is a strong point for me, and it only involves moving your eyes and fingers on a keyboard. Perfect! I think in the end I wrote more essays than I ran miles...oops. 

Example #2: I will NEVER walk up an escalator. Please tell me, what is the point in walking up stairs that are IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING YOU?! It baffles me whenever someone walks up one, and I will never understand that logic.

I have a plethora of other examples, which I'm sure will come out in due time. But right now I need to get back to these fries before the Boo steals them all.

PS: I'm praying for you Boston, and I feel stronger than ever in our country's ability in finding the f***er who bombed us. United we stand!!!

I'm going to attempt to make a maxi skirt

That's right, attempt, so if you never hear about it again, assume the worst happened. I think I want to go with a bright color too, but lately I've been wearing a ton of black, go figure. Maybe the overcast weather has something to do with that. Oh well, I'll see what I find and let you know, or not, depending on my findings...

It's Friday but...

I don't think I should be this happy that it's Friday. I think if I truly had my dream job, I would be sad about it ending for the week. Although, I HATE waking up early. It's nearly impossible for me to do, and once I'm up, I'm never really awake until about 9AM. So how I manage to get my makeup on, coffee made, dressed, out the door, walk down to work, and open shop is amazing to me. My poor coworkers have to hear me whine and complain about just how tired I am, when I easily could of gone to bed earlier to avoid all this. But then I miss my shows, so...tough.

The Boo was waaaay too peaceful this morning sleeping in bed. I'm still a little jealous. I want to sleep in until 9:30ish! Then get up and watch some Price is Right! Lame.

I Want A Patio

I really just want to sit outside after work, with a glass of wine, and maybe some good cheese. And that's it! Just sit, sip, and chew. I already have the wine and cheese, just need that patio. One can dream I guess...

SLO County Shenanigans

Yesterday and this morning have been spent mostly at the San Luis Obispo County Planning and Building department, and lets just say it's one of the worst places to be. Well, maybe not worst, but definitely on that list of top 10. I think I'd rather be in line at Starbucks at rush hour than spend 3+ hours there again. 

Let me explain: SLO County has the look of an old library, smells like the inside of a fridge with expired leftovers stocking it's shelves, and looks like an entire forest was used to decorate it--wood paneling and furniture galore. The people are usually really nice, from my experience, but when it comes to getting stuff processed, it's nearly impossible. The system they use isn't connected to each department, so someone has to constantly re-enter data just to update it, and it's very frustrating getting a print out of an update on a project with items that should be crossed off but aren't because of that very reason. Sooo, that's basically what I did yesterday--made sure everything was current on a project so the print out looked nice a neat. And it never quite got to that nice and neat look...FAK.

I never want to go back. 

But I'm betting I will be back some time this week.

What I can't live without

I just got my new hair straightener in the mail and let me tell you, it's heaven. I just can't live without my hair straightener, and having a new one is the best thing ever. It's not like I would die without it, but I really don't think I would last long. So if there ever is a zombie apocalypse or whatever, and the electricity goes out, and we are living off of a generator, and everyone gets a set number of minutes to use, I would spend them all on straightening my hair. 

It might sound silly to some (most maybs?) but it's what makes me happy. And isn't there a saying that says "do what makes you happy"? I'm not sure if they were talking about flat ironing the crap outta your hair, but that's what makes me smile so I'm going with it!

My college roommates would know that if I didn't get my hair straightened or my cup of coffee in the morning, I would be a super beezy to them. Strange how they avoided me whenever this happened...

Also, these are ADORABLE! Pretty prints puts at least a grin on my face, and Rifle Paper Co. always delivers: 

I'm one day away from my car registration deadline and I'm finally getting the good ol' Saturn smog checked. Cutting it close but that's okay. It's not like its fun to get your car smogged. I'd rather be straightening my hair, obvi.
